Another happy post
Hey gurls! how's everyone doing? mummy, hope you tided over the rough patch! Just got back from Brittany, France. Spent a week there as part of my class, which looks at the human-coastal interactions in France. Met with some French scientists and did some hiking and other cool stuff. It was pretty fun, though we had to get up really early on some days, and that was just.. bleahi think one of the most interesting visits was to the fish market. we got there at like 5am, and got to see the freshly caught seafood and auction (though it was computerized, so there's like a board where the bids appear and no noisy haggling, which would have been more fun). we also got to see some worm reefs, which don't sound like anything, but are actually quite amazing when you see them. they are pretty extensive and built by these little polychaetes. other than the academic stuff, we also got to eat lotsa crepes and seafood, both of which are really famous in Brittany. oh, not forgetting the pastries and bread and wine and cider! yum! The place is really pretty, with small little towns that have cobblestoned roads and little shops. I want to go back!
