Hello! this is the first time im blogging in like, months..heh..nothing very exciting has been happening in my life though. The marine lab is pretty as always, though it's now starting to get cold, so i think our days of going to the beach or just chillin outside are numbered. :( oh well.So we had this public speaking workshop today. To be honest, it wasn't that amazing. i mean, she did tell us some stuff, but i already know most of it. and she put this one girl on the spot and got her so upset that she cried. it wasn't too bad overall though..just a little drawn out.
went out on a boat ride just now..THAT was wonderful. i wish we can just go out on a boat anytime we want. ohh..we did pilates on the dock the other night though..it was kinda cool. there was a boat of people who drove by, and they were taking pictures, and we were in this weird, awkward position. not the most attractive sight, i must say..hahah.
coming to the marine lab has been quite a change. it made we remember some of the things that i had realized when i first came to the states, but had forgotten. was kinda miserable for a little bit, but once i stop expecting too much from myself, life became a lot easier. i know all this sounds really cryptic, but i feel really weird putting thoughts like that down on the blog..
on another note, we just read this book for english class, and the main character is so witty and describes things in a really unique way. Here's one i really like (i don't know why i like it so much though..i think i just love the image and the appropriateness of it). So she's talking about Benja, who's this ballerina thirteen years younger than her, with whom her father lives with.
"Then I realized that she loved him. That under that appealing coquettishness was a love like a military operation that would tolerate anyhting and fight any necessary tank battles and demand the world in return."
