it's hard to believe that lessons for this sem end in 2 weeks' time. when everyone else is still settling into the routine of school, we are about to be cut off from it. the end of regular lessons in school brings a slight sense of nostalgia, given that i've only been there for one and a half years, and i don't really know what i'll miss anyway. maybe the regular bazaars that are outside the LT?i guess there's something about being in such a specialised field of study that your timetable for the whole year is specially tailored way ahead by the dean's office. we don't go through any of the bidding for courses, arranging your own timetables (including having fixed free days!), having fixed timetable every week, meeting new people in all the different modules, getting to take cross-faculty courses...and then when people talk about it we can only nod along and try to understand what they're going through. oh well. part of it is probably just the tradeoff for completing med school in 5 years instead of the longer years that other places take. the cocooned feeling can be a little scary, but at the same time it's quite cosy.
on a brighter note, cny preparations are about finished! came home early yesterday intending to study, but i ended up baking almond cookies and this new apricot cookie with my mum and sister. after that i felt very very happy, and it struck me how baking is so cathartic. :) it's great to have a comfort activity, but after that, all the food's gotta go somewhere! so whoever wants to come over for cny, to eat to play, you are welcome!! (:
btw, our tagboard's up and running again. decided nobody was ever going to do it so i went to tinker around with it, and it's not all that hard...so TAG, everyone who's reading! :)
