happy cny =)
happy cny everyone! =) it's just too bad that it's midterm break and exams are in 3 weeks and the feeling of unpreparedness is just HORRIBLE :( and meanwhile visiting and people coming over and all that is taking up a lot of time. for once, cny period is kinda stressful...not a very good change! first there was all the baking which i usually love but this time round there's a lot of work competing with the baking for my time. and all the cleaning up blah blah mundane things kinda kill the mood a little. but i shouldn't be complaining, cos i still have the company of family and friends over here...count my blessings!went back to malaysia on friday afternoon, came back 1.5 days later :) it was really great seeing all the cousins, uncles&aunts, nephews etc again! there were just SO many babies and toddlers around i couldn't help but feel old :/ it's our turn to take care of them cos we're all grown up now, and our turn to show them how we play with all the 炮! without all the firecrackers and fireworks and illegal exploding stuff (yeah it's illegal and there's some kinda kick in doing something illegal haha) chinese new year would feel weird. and seeing the kids getting so excited, lighting the fuses and running away...just brings back this overwhelming feeling of nostalgia sigh. what wouldn't i give to be at that age again :)
isn't it amusing how all of us always want to be young again? life now is exciting too! just not in the same innocent silly way it was when we were still kids, running around pretty much without a care in a world. but all of us are also aware that 10 years down the road, we'll be wishing we were this age again, won't we? maybe this constant looking back is preventing us from appreciating all that's around us at THIS moment...
