thank goodness it's friday

have been rather busy lately...i'm so glad it's friday! :) two consecutive bad nights makes for very bad trying to stay awake in lecture especially if the person standing at the mike tends to drone a bit. we have a very cute lecturer now...cute not as in the normal kind of cute, but the endearing old man kind of cute haha. he's very tall and pretty old (maybe 60+?), wears his pants higher than the rest of us do (naturally haha), hunches quite visibly just at the shoulders, speaks with a very slight hk accent and is just really endearing, so it's a pretty good feeling to sit through his lectures :)

last week i watched two movies: pan's labyrinth on friday and blood diamond on saturday! actually i knew nothing about pan's labyrinth till a few hours before i went to watch with my friend, just that it's a fairytale. knew nothing about the spanish bit haha. but i've come to realise that even if you watch a movie in a foreign language, as long as the subtitles are in english, when you recall the movie and the plot your memory makes the it into an english movie...doesn't it? same happened when i try to recall 'life is beautiful'. anyway both were really good movies, highly recommended!

was reading b1's blog just now, and i agree wholeheartedly that old friends are gold :) i've been talking to old friends more this year than i've ever done last year, and it's a really great feeling to know that the love is still there and going strong. there's a solid sense of security in talking to these old friends that's hard to get anywhere else...how many people do we have around us that we can truly tell all our problems to? plus all the corny jokes and dumb ideas we have from time to time haha...you know they'll laugh at you but it's all in good spirit. what's best is that you're sure the friendship will keep going :)

going for a charity run tomorrow morning in school...it's the first time i'm running since 2.4 in j2! and my friend and i pledged EIGHT rounds to the thing haha...hope i don't end up walking any more than 2 rounds! round the track la. but hopefully my badminton playing in the recent weeks have improved my stamina slightly so the long sedentary period shouldn't kill me off :)
