my first duke bball game!
quote from puddle's blog: "can two particular beauties blog more?". im not sure if im one of the the two, but im definitely a beauty, so here i am blogging!!! haha..
ok..enough of self-delusion..on to the important stuff! i went for my first ever duke basketball game on Monday!! btw, duke is crazy about bball, coz our team is nationally ranked..and basically there are some people who wanted to come to duke because of its bball..anyway, the experience was great! though we were expected to win (and we won by a relatively large margin), the game was still exciting! the first part of the game was kind of a struggle for duke, and i was like: are you sure we're good? then i remembered that i have bad karma or something (puddle, rmb how we were saying that we always cause teams to lose?) and maybe duke will lose because of me.. that will be really terrible because we're NOT SUPPOSED to lose this game..but fortunately, the team picked up in the second half..whew..but for me, the most fascinating thing is not the game (though the players were really-i hate to use this word- awesome)..it was the way the blue devils (that's us) cheer..there's no "practice" sessions like what we had in sec school and jc, but everyone is so coordinated, it's like they rehearsed for it. Being the lost and unexperienced freshman, i was completely lost for the first part! but i started to get the hang of it, and it's really fun! and everyone's super hardcore: most people were wearing shirts that are duke blue or white, and some even painted their faces! (and this is not even an important game..) SO, the gist of it: i really enjoyed myself and i'm definitely going for more games!!
on a different note, there was this girl who standing in front of me who was obviously not there for the game but for her boyfriend. She perpertually demanded a kiss from him like every five minutes, it's as though she would DIE without her timely dose of love. *rolls eyes*. i think it's kind of pathetic how she's trying to cling on to him..and he's not even that good-looking in the first place..actually, he's not even good-looking. maybe i'm too traditional/ feminist/ whatever it is, but i think girls just shouldn't throw themselves at guys like that..there's no way to get him to treasure or respect you..
ok, enough of bitching..back to intellectual stimulation (ie, studying).. :)
